16.06.2017 Romanian Pharmacist in Sweden – Claudia

Good day Claudia ,

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions

  • For how long are you in Sweden  ?

Hej!

I’ve been living in Sweden for the last 8 months.

  • Was it  a good option to leave Romania and start working in Sweden   ?

Moving to Sweden was the best decision I made for myself , for my future.

  • Do you like Sweden ? Do you like your town ? What do you like most ?

Sweden is exactly how you would expect it, a beautiful country with civilized people who have a great respect for nature and they always make you feel welcomed.  I live in a small town  (15.000 people) but I have everything I  need here. I sometimes miss the big city but that’s not a problem here.  You can hop on a train and  easily and fast  can get to a big city. The south of Sweden ,especially, is very well connected by train. The cities are very beautiful  and the people are very nice. On the other hand swedish people are known  to be more private, more reserved.  They are not as easy going as we roumanians are.  Is pretty hard to make friends here especially if you live in a small city. They don’t want to bother you and they keep their distance. Even at work, everybody is getting along with everybody, we help each other but we don’t socialize outside the farmacy. This is just how they are.

  • How is the work of a Pharmacist in Sweden ? Is it different than Romania ? What can you tell us about it ?

The farmaceutical system is very different from the one in Romania. Here is easier, the program helps you a lot and the probability to do a misstake is very little. Here the pharmacist works 90 % of time on prescriptions, the OTC section is managed by the pharmacy- assistans.  When I started work at the pharmacy , the first two months were only for training. I’ve learned about the rules, the system, the program and after two months I was able to work alone with pacients on prescriptions. It takes time, there are a lot of things to do but is not impossible. Is actually easier once you get the hang of it. Is is hard because of the language, there are a lot of old pacients and I don’t always understand what they are saying.  But that’s why collegues are there J)).

  • Are you happy in Sweden ?

I am happy in Sweden. I am still at the beginig but things are ok and going in the right direction.

  • What was difficult in the process of relocation to Sweden ?

In Sweden is hard to get an apartment. Here 85% of the population lives in rented houses or flats and is very hard to find a free one. And when you find it, it is an empty apartment. You have to buy your own furniture, your own everything. There are cases when you find furniced ones but that is very rare and expensive. So you have to be prepared at the beginig with some money to spent on what you need in a house. The process overall was not that hard, you just have to adjust and take it step by step. Is hard just at the beginning till you realize what you have to do, how thing work here. Everything is easier one you get the hang of it. J))

  • How hard was it for you to learn Swedish ?

The language is not that hard to learn. It just seems like this in the beginning but once you live here and you start using it all the time you just catch it.

  • How was the language training in Belgrad  ?

The language training was great. We had great teachers. We started with lessons on Skype and then we spent three months in Belgrad where we had an intensive Swedish cour We had a great time in Belgrad , we learned Swedish  with a great teacher and we made new friends.  We stayed  friends even after the end of the course and we keep in touch now in Sweden even thou we live in different parts of Sweden.

  • What would you advise the Pharmacists  interested in taking a job in Sweden  ?

I would advice them to take a chance. You can never win in this life if you don’t take some risks. Is hard at the begining but  is worth it. It doesn’t compare with the work in Romania , not to mention the payment and the benefits.  As a farmacist you earn enough to have a decent life with no struggles here. I think the experience is different for each person but I would encourage you to try.

  • and finally …were you pleased with Intermarin’s work to support you trough this process?

I am more than pleased with the help I got from Intermarin. They are very serios and very helpful. Everything it happened as we discussed it and I am impressed by the level of professionalism they showed.

Good luck everybody! J)))

19.10.2015Romanian Pharmacist in Sweden

Romanian Pharmacist in Sweden

Good day Florentina ,

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions

  • For how long are you in Sweden  ?

I am in Sweden from 1 April 2014.

  • Was it  a good option to leave Romania and start working in Sweden   ?

Yes, it is a good option to come and work  in a country like Sweden where it is a good social system in place, where they take special care of environment, in only one word, it is a developed country.

  • Do you like Sweden ? Do you like your town ? What do you like most ?

I live in Kristianstad which is situated in the South of Sweden, a city with 37.000 inhabitants (here it is considered to be a medium city). I chose this city (the recruitment persons took into consideration my request) because I have a sister established here who helped and supported me during the accommodation period. In my opinion, when someone moves in another country, it is very important to not do this movement alone, because being together with the family, boyfriend or girlfriend, makes the accommodation period easier

What I like most in the city : the city center has plenty of shops, good schools for children, the seaside is situated only 20 minutes by car, they have beautiful nature with green grass almost all year, it is very clean, people have smiling faces and they are well educated ( people who thank you for nothing).

What I don’t like: after 7 pm everything is closed, except some restaurants, pubs; the weather is very changeable, there are cloudy and darkness days during winter time (Scandinavian weather). I miss the life from a big city.

  • How is the work of a Pharmacist in Sweden ? Is it different than Romania ? What can you tell us about it ?

I work as a pharmacist in  a village with beautiful gardens and nice people. The next pharmacy you may find is around 10-15 km away. We are a team of 5 people: two pharmaceutical technicians and three specialized persons with the right to sign the prescriptions. The working program is 40 hours per month, with one hour lunch break everyday

In a little pharmacy it is always something to do, different stuff which get you out from the daily routine (a good thing considering that time flies fast).

What means to work like a pharmacist in Sweden? It means that you are that specialist who has the right of electronic signature on medical prescriptions in the moment that the right medicine is going to the right client, the specialist checks if it is the correct dose and if there are any interactions between all the drugs that a patient should take. Only having a good communication with the clients, mistakes and other misunderstandings could be avoided. All mistakes are reported. We have support from the medical sites and pharmaceutical computer program.

At the beginning, I got support with the language, information about haw to work, about

the applicable laws and rules.

I wasn’t ashamed to ask about everything I didn’t understand it. We work in a team with individual responsibilities, we do the best to enhance the quality of work and we share knowledge between us.

The difference between working in Romania and Sweden like pharmacist is that here it is taken more care about patient safety through well organized system. In Romania unfortunately, the sales part is above the patients’safety.

  • Are you happy in Sweden ?

75 % I am happy

  • What was difficult in the process of relocation to Sweden ?

It was very difficult to get an apartment in this city, I got it after one year. The south part of Sweden is very populated and every day people from all over the world are coming here. I am living together with my sister and her family until my apartment will be ready. It isn’t easy to find some friends; the Swedish people are nice, but they are not very social and keep they life private after work. They have a different approach and vision regarding.

  • How hard was it for you to learn Swedish ?

It was a hard work, done in a short period of time, for me it was harder to understand them then when they spoke because they have the south dialect. The learning process was something done on a daily basis, most of the time, done with pleasure, but sometimes, not

  • How was the language training in Berlin  ?

In Berlin it was a very intensive training, of course this helped us but I think that it was too much: during the day we learned together with the teacher (morning till 2-3 pm )  and after the course we had to do the homework for the next day which wasn’t a very easy job, considering the high amount of exercises and the lack of time.

  • What would you advise the Pharmacists  interested in taking a job in Sweden  ?

In my opinion, it is a good choice and opportunity to develop your professional knowledge but the movement should be done only accompanied by your family or your life partner.

  • and finally …were you pleased with Intermarin’s work to support you trough this process?

I was pleased to work with this recruitment company, I got all the necessary support not only before I came here, but also after my arrival here. This questionnaire is also a proof that that you are interested to improve the quality of your job

04.10.2015 Romanian OPTOMETRIST in NORWAY – ALEXANDRA

Dear Alexandra ,

First of all we would like you to know we are very proud of you !!! 🙂 You are doing a great job in Norway !!!

Thank you also  for taking the time to answer our questions

For how long are you in Norway  ?

I moved in Norway on 1st of March 2015.

Was it a good option to leave Romania and start working in Norway  ?

Taking into account all aspects of Romanian living and working standards, I would say that it was the best option for me at that time.

Do you like Norway ? Do you like your town ? What do you like most ?

I am impressed with Norway. I will not talk about nature, which is breathtaking, but the way society is built and the way it continuously develops. There are laws and rules which people agree with and follow, common sense and humanity seems to have been born here, working in a team is not just a theoretical term written on a contract you sign and personal opinions and feelings are taken into account.

were you pleased with Intermarin’s work to support you through this process ?

Yes, I am very pleased with their work and commitment. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone who is interested in finding a job

It was one of the best decisions I made in my life. It was not easy, but it worth all the effort.

Yes, I like in Sweden. I felt like it should fell at home from the first day. My town is very beautiful, nice and cozy, it’s not a very big town, but I think it has everything we need to feel good. The most about my town I like is the lake, the beach, the quiet streets, the nature, the smell of the forest in the air.

were you pleased with Intermarin’s work to support you through this process?

Intermarin was the number one supporter in all this process. I found my answers, my support, and my encouragement with Intermarin. It was a really serious partner, and a really professional support all along this year, from the first contact, until I arrived in Sweden and it continues to support me when I have questions or problems. 14.09.2014, Romanian Pharmacist in Sweden- LAVINIA

Good day Lavinia ,

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions

  1. For how long are you in Sweden  ?

I moved to Sweden 4 months ago, together with my boyfriend.

  1. Was it a good option to leave Romania and start working in Sweden   ?

Up until now I think it was a good idea. It is a bit difficult since everything is new, but I have the opportunity to learn new things and to develop myself professionally. The work environment is agreeable, my colleagues are nice and helpful. Teamwork is very important, no one is lazy. It’s normal to make mistakes and the mistakes are logged – not for reproof, but for others to learn from them. This way the rules and procedures can be improved so mistakes are less frequent. You are encouraged to give your opinion and even if your opinions may not applied, they are always respected. The boss takes into account the employee’s opinions and makes decisions involving them. It’s common to be shown appreciation and encouragement when you deserve it. Each employee has clear tasks and responsabilities. If you are sick or if your child is sick, it’s normal to take a few days off to take care of yourself or your child. You can take up to a week off without needing to bring any proof of your sickness from a doctor.

  1. Do you like Sweden ? Do you like your town ? What do you like most ?

Sweden is a very calm and beautiful country. The town I live in is very small compared to a town in Romania, but it has anything you would need for every day living. Sweden is very open to immigrants, it has a very good integration program.

were you pleased with Intermarin’s work to support you trough this process ?

I am satisfied with their support. They helped me with obtaining some documents faster. The documents that have to be obtained to be able to practice in Sweden require a long time and I think the starting date of the contract should take into account the legal maximum time limits for obtaining those documents.

Our Doctors make us proud !!!

http://www.frankenpost.de/lokal/hofrehau/rehau/Rettung-kommt-aus-Rumaenien;art2452,2440374

Also fühle ich mich wohl.

Dr. Isabella Minca
